“I sent straight to the vendor, she loved it!”
On the corner of Windsor and Elizabeth Streets stands a house that has long drawn the eye. Known locally as Windsor Castle, the 1880s residence has been carefully reimagined by X.PACE Design Group into a home of rare balance, heritage and modernity, weight and lightness.
Stone walls and iron lace remain as memory, while new volumes open to sky and harbour. Within, five bedrooms and four bathrooms unfold with a quiet rhythm, each space defined by proportion, material and light. The living areas expand outward to terraces and gardens; the rooftop draws the gaze further, offering a view that stretches across Paddington and into the harbour beyond.
Details are considered, not decorative. A heated plunge pool sits suspended in glass. Joinery is exact, yet softened by tone and texture. The result is a landmark.
