Stories: UNITEX

Unitex has spent more than thirty years shaping the fabric of Australian interiors.

Founded by Ali and Mali and now led by Afsoon and Afshin, the Unitex family has built a business defined by integrity, precision and quiet pride in their craft. From their Sydney headquarters, Unitex connects global artistry with local design sensibility, creating and distributing rugs that sit at the intersection of heritage and contemporary living.

The heroes of this story are the Unitex family themselves. A lineage of courage, care, and continuity. Through their eyes, this short brand film traces a journey from humble beginnings to national influence, revealing how they see the world. Guided by Clinton Toepfer and Reece Underhay, who shaped the creative direction and cinematography, and refined in post-production by Camille Leyson, the film unfolds with rhythm and grace. Together, they’ve created something closer to memory than marketing, a portrait of people, craft and time.

The story moves between the people and space: the calm authority of Ali, the grounded warmth of Afsoon, the quiet drive of Afshin. Between dialogue and motion, the camera finds rhythm in the everyday; a family working with purpose, a business built on trust. Launched at a special event, this film shows a beautiful reflection. A $15,000 investment in craft and legacy, made to honour what’s been built rather than advertise it. The result is understated and honest.

When craft, family, and storytelling meet with intention, a brand transcends its category. What remains is quiet confidence, a reminder that true beauty is built to last.
